Curriculum Development
I’ve had the opportunity to design and teach a range of business courses, including Business Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Retail Operations and Financial Literacy. In each course, I developed curriculum that blends foundational knowledge with real-world application, ensuring students not only understand the content but can confidently apply it beyond the classroom. I incorporate hands-on projects and career readiness activities to help students build practical skills in leadership, strategic thinking and creativity. My goal is to create learning experiences that are engaging, relevant and empower students to see themselves as future professionals and problem-solvers.

DECA
As a DECA advisor, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring students as they develop leadership skills, explore careers in business and marketing and compete at the regional, state and international levels. I reactivated our DECA chapter and have led its growth to over 70 members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where students build confidence, develop strong communication skills and take ownership of real-world, career-focused projects. From competition prep and fundraising to community engagement and event planning, DECA provides students with hands-on experiences that prepare them for success in college, careers and life.

Elementary School Field Trips
Elementary school field trips were created as a way to show young students what college is like for a day at Utah Valley University. Schools from across Utah County were invited to visit campus for a tour and to watch a women’s sporting event throughout the academic year.
My role was directing the production of these field trips from start to finish. This included working with school representatives, creating a campus tour and assisting in producing specialized game promotions to provide a unique and exciting experience for over 8,000 students throughout eight games.
Through this initiative, the single game attendance record for both women’s basketball and women’s soccer were broken for the University.

Recognition Nights
Throughout the year, special recognition nights were held to honor various groups. Recognition nights showcased the diversity that is present at Utah Valley in a fun, exciting way. These nights included Salute to Service, Autism Awareness Night, African Diaspora Night and more. I assisted our director in planning these recognitions with other offices at the University to ensure that their ideas were included and expectations were being met.

In-Game Production
Utah Valley Athletics strives to provide their fans with fun and unique experiences while attending games by having contests, performances and more.
Another responsibility of mine included scheduling the National Anthem for each athletic event throughout the year. I completed this by working closely with the UVU Music Department. This partnership provided athletics with a performer for each game while showcasing university students. In-game, I was responsible for ensuring that all special promotions took place. This ranged from game ball presentations to halftime performances.

Wolverine Weekly
Each week, I wrote the script for Wolverine Weekly, a social media segment that highlighted recent athletic achievements and promoted upcoming games and events. In addition to crafting engaging, on-brand content, I also coordinated and scheduled student-athletes to guest host each episode. This not only boosted engagement, but gave fans a chance to see a different, more personal side of the athletes. The segment became a fun and effective way to increase school spirit and spotlight student voices.

Spirit's Birthday
Spirit’s Birthday is an annual event involving the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Phoenix. The night is full of flag football, dancing, and hanging out with Spirit’s mascot friends.
While it took place soon after my internship began, I was able to be heavily involved in the production of the event. I assisted in the scheduling of a late addition mascot, volunteer check-in process, run of show and various other elements of the event.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was not able to be held in its typical format. Spirit’s Birthday Challenge: The 2020 Remix was then created allowing over 300 children from Clubs across the state to participate in a virtual challenge week which ended with a Zoom birthday party.

Wishes for Teachers
Wishes for Teachers is an initiative that gives back to the teachers of Arizona. Teachers are able to apply to win $5,000 that would grant their classroom wish. These wishes range from flexible seating to professional clothing for underprivileged high school seniors.
For the Wishes for Teachers campaign, I assisted in organizing information that was utilized for Draft Day. This included preparing the 200 winning submissions to be read by Wish Granters, scheduling video calls and more.
As a way to honor the recipients, Fiesta Bowl Charities invites them to attend the Cheez-It Bowl as well as walk in the Fiesta Bowl Parade. I was responsible for coordinating ticket distribution and communicating details for the on-field recognition and parade.

Operation Santa
Operation Santa is an event that allows children from Luke Air Force Base with a parent deployed for the holidays to go on a shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods in partnership with USAA and Fighter Country. Each child was given $300 to spend at the store as well as a swag bag.
I was able to work closely with each of these organizations to plan a fun and exciting night of holiday shopping. Throughout the night the children received a T-shirt, completed a craft, interacted with Spirit and shopped with a USAA volunteer.

Player Outreach
Throughout the week leading up to the Cheez-It Bowl and PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, Fiesta Bowl Charities partnered with four different nonprofits to host unique player outreach events with each team.
While involved in each of them, I was able to be the lead on Air Force Academy’s participation in the Salvation Army’s Annual Christmas Dinner which serves 5,000 guests each year. Tasks for these events included volunteer management, mascot scheduling and event operations.

50/50 Raffle
At both the Cheez-It Bowl and PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, Fiesta Bowl Charities was responsible for running a 50/50 raffle to raise money for over 40 charities that are supported each year through grants. Through these raffles, I was able to assist in producing trainings for Be Kind People Project volunteers, volunteer management and game day execution. These raffles raised more money than any other 50/50 raffle held by the Fiesta Bowl.

Teacher Mask Distribution
Fiesta Bowl Charities distributed 50,000 PPE face masks to educators across the state to prepare them for the return to the classroom. Distribution was completed through three drive-up events in North, Central and South Arizona. At the events, teachers were cheered on by volunteers while receiving a mask and some were even randomly selected to receive a Golden Ticket (DonorsChoose gift code).
I assisted in the event planning and execution as well as coordinating volunteers for all three events.
-
Grant Cycle
Each year Fiesta Bowl Charities holds a grant cycle that allows Arizona nonprofits to apply to receive funding for initiatives and programming that falls within the pillars of youth, sports and education.
I supported the Director of Community Relations in organizing and reviewing over 400 applications and assisting the Charitable Giving Committee.

Kindness Arizona
Fiesta Bowl and Desert Financial Credit Union teamed up for a statewide caravan to spread kindness. The five day, 25 stop tour included renovations, donations and service projects with local nonprofits, schools and organizations.
For Kindness Arizona, I helped lead on logistics and planning, as well as overseeing five of the stops throughout the week. These stops included a teachers’ lounge renovation, shoe distribution with Boys & Girls Club Tucson, a donation to teachers at two schools, and stops at both the Phoenix Fire Department and Phoenix Police Department to donate cookies and a check to a nonprofit of their choice.
